Do you go as a DJ, or intending to become one, or what? Well I tried to be a Dj. I like entertaining people, but I don’t think I went very far in my carrier. Nevertheless when I spin records it is the night to remember.
Where did the name come from? The nick sticked to me naturally. It is a shortened version of "Skyle". Long time ago in higher school my class was having a combined russian grammar lecture with class H composed of most degenerated pupils. I used to listen to music during the class and one day it was a band called „Skyle“ (eng. The Hole ). I was asked by one of the buttheads what do I listen to. Well the answer proved to be very funny and fast enough to travel through the school corridors straight to my friends ears. The buttheads keeped calling me Skyle so and my friends. It lost it’s previous hummor as time passed and became a nick name. Well I took some letters out latter to avoid abuse of band members.
Who have been your influences DJ wise since you started? One and only Saga. I heard his radio show accidently. It was hardcore music he played at a time. And I got in love with it. I used to record his shows into tapes and mix the tracks latter. I guess he was the first one to invite me to perfom in proper gig.
How did you start collecting records? I started buying vynils in 1996 from one and only distributor that time. I had to wait for 2 hours in their office to get the frst peace of plastic, because accountant was out for lunch.
How you feel about the whole underground verses commercial? To be honest I don’t care much about it. Every genre of music is unpopular in it’s early age. In this stage it is performed in the underground, whereas it gets matured and atracts more audience it finds it’s place in prestigious clubs. But I really don’t mind the venue it self. Most important thing is the music and the message it carries within. If one starts making music solely for reward it tastes no better than instant noodles.
Is it important for you to educate your crowd? I always give them some sweets and some lash. This is my way. Dance and be happy.
What was the first rave you went to? I was so exited about it that I don’t even remember what it was.
Are there five pieces of vinyl you can't live with out? I have some briliant tracks actualy. My favourite ones would be: Richie Spice – Burning (Coki remix), Kush Arora – Boss Strutt Dub, Ram Trilogy - Skreamer, Black Sun Empire – Future frame, Submerged & Temulent – Suicide Hotline.
The ideal night out is... Buddha and very good sound system.
What´s the secret of your success? Make the girls scream and you will save the night!
