Do you have any interest except Techno?
Yes I do I like all sorts of music, my record collection goes from Lightning Hopkins through the Skatalites to the Liberators and far beyond.

How much time do you spend in the record shop once you get in there?
Well actually I’ve been trying to stay away from the record shop because I’m skint and when I go I spend hours and all my money. Why did you have to mention this now I’m gonna go there running again.

What was your first booking?
My first gig was for Techno in the city at Duke’s in Houndsditch on 29th September 2005, thanks to my kind friends at Malfaiteurs soundsystem, and to be honest you should be happy you weren’t there because it was crap but it was a worthwhile first experience.

What has been your biggest gig so far?
Well biggest as in biggest venue is probably at the Mass in Brixton, biggest as in most important is the residency for Nuclear Free Zone at 414, and biggest as in most ‘avin it is most definitely at a multirig squat party!

Can you see yourself getting involved in let say, band projects?
Sure why not, I’m very open to different approaches to music, if I got the opportunity I would.

Any upcoming projects or releases we can look forward to?
Yes, there are a couple of projects and collaborations on the way but you will have to be patient, as will I, something which seems to surpass me sometimes.

In the past couple of years techno has been transformed and somewhat bastardised by an explosion of so-called minimal, something that has seen numerous figureheads of techno completely and utterly change their style. You along with a few others have remained distanced from this craze - was this a conscious decision?
Ooh this is a tricky one, I think I know what you’re trying to get at but considering I only started playing in these past couple of years I’m probably not in a position to provide an answer to that. All I can say is that I play the records I like which correspond to the party I’m playing at, and I have a lot of different styles of records.

What would you change in London underground culture?
I owe everything to the London underground culture and I wouldn’t change it because then it would no longer be itself, like a shift in identity.

Any secrets to make the people dance like you do?
Just ‘avin it! I like to build up my sets and have a certain drive and intensity to them, but mainly it’s about having fun behind the decks, playing the right tunes at the right time and communicating with the dancefloor. But you should probably ask the ravers what makes them dance about my sets.

If you were throwing a party and could pick any 3 DJs to play, who would they be and why?
Can I be cheeky on the last one? If I were throwing a party I wouldn’t pick just three DJs…  but, if you poked me with a stick until I gave u three names it would probably go Jeff Amadeus, The Liberators (yes there’s three of them but it’s one name hehe), and Jerome Hill.
