Since when have you been spinning the decks? The biggest one was at the Coronet Theatre in 2001, London, Elephant & Castle. 3000 people were dancing there. The biggest one I have organized by myself was at Mass in Brixton with 16 DJs including Chris Liberator, Christian Valera and ANT. It took me 2 years to make it. Tell us the good and bad aspects of the squat parties. Well, good thing is there are completely freedom. The bad thing, that there is too much of freedom. What do you think distinguishes you from other music makers in the scene? I don't know how I can distinguish myself from someone else, but if I describe my music with the color I think it's black. What is your approach to arranging elements in a tune? Since when i was a child, I've been interested in the space, deep inside the sea, or something that cannot be reached by human. With electronic music, I can describe these kinds of things. I'm trying to use this kind of imagination when I produce my music. Do you feel you've fully realised yourself as a producer yet? I've done so many parties which I can't even count. There were nice and really impressive ones but I'm still trying to find the perfect one. I want to keep on going to the top! What is your opinion about the analogue vs digital debate which is overshadowing the industry at the moment? Well, from the analogue records, I feel the essence of the music. But from the digital sound, I can still listening to it but don't feel like to dance to them... Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? I've been always trying to improve my music skills to worldwide level. Which techno figures do you aspire to? I've been playing Techno music under the name of the sound system Malfaiteurs for 10 years. Through that experience, I found myself feeling most excited with acid techno and schranz. Any particular projects you would like to tell us about? At the moment I want to make more of my production and at the same time I want to spread the Techno music scene in London with dataBlender, which my first vinyl is going to be released from, and N7 records by Aaron the "Pimp" and Electirc Delight. |
