Who did you want to become in your early years? Yoshiki and Hide of X Japan! X Japan is the pioneer of Visual Kei music scene in my country.
When and how did you become involved with techno music? I met techno music at the boat party named "DIGIT.ALL.BOAT", which was the first squat rave in my life. What is interesting, that this party was organized by dataBlender. I came to London just for clubbing in April 2006 and this party was in August 2006. I was shocked so much by the atmosphere and the DJs who were playing at the party. I never thought I would play live techno or DJ at that time. But they had an enough energy and some kind of madness to make me start playing and making dance music. This party completely changed my life.
Do you think about frequencies in terms of emotion? I've never thought about it from such a point of view, but I'm sure they have some relationship with the people's emotion. To be said "hey" in higher frequency or lower frequency make me feel differently. I think I can say the same to the music.
How did you come up with the concept to perform with gameboy? I grabbed it because it sounds simply great. And I like the portability of this sweet little machine. I used to think electronic music such as techno or DnB were only for the dance floor but if I use the gameboy I can play them even in the underground stations.
Do you work with pencil/paper, or compose into the computer? Sometimes I write down the things onto the paper but basically I use just a computer. Because music softwares are just like real instruments. Composing with them is not different from jamming with the drum kits or the piano. It's like a improvisation.
What kind of stylistic approach will you take to scoring a future production? All I want to do is to create nice grooves. As long as the groove is nice, my music can be arranged into any form. My style is based on hard techno and schranz but in these days I'm quite interested in hardcore things such as breakcore or gabba. I want to mix the essence from these music all together and create something new.
Is there a release coming out? Yep! From the dataBlender records!
Do you have any dream projects? I've got so many, one of them is making a party in a big public bath with a steam sauna. The dance floor itself is also a space for chill out, and the sound is going to be something we've never heard of because it has a natural bath reverb! All we have to care about is the water proof for our sound system. I'm quite serious with this project.
Are future robots going to make better music than a human? If they're able to have a nice vibe, I'm pretty sure they are going to make nice ones! But in that case this world is going to be ruled by A.I.!
Do you have any advice for people seriously considering a career as a music composer? The only thing I can tell is that everyone is different. No one can be better, no one can be worse. Everyone has different groove, different way of feeling. That's why music is interesting.
